Resin and Wood Pendant

My 1 year wedding anniversary is coming up and, traditionally, you are suppose to give your spouse paper for that anniversary but I decided to spice it up a bit and make a paper flower and embed it in resin surrounded by wood and turn it into a necklace for my wife. This is how I did it.

Spice Board (Rack)

When we moved in to our current place, there was a spice rack installed in one of the cabinets but it was pretty high up and my wife had a hard time reaching it. We have a baker’s rack with a top shelf that seemed like a better place to store spices so I made a simple spice board-rack-thing so we could store spices in a more convenient place. This is how I made it.

Drill Lathe

I have an old, cheapo drill that I rarely use so I decided to turn it into a lathe. The lathe is made from 8 pieces of wood mostly 3/4″ x 3 1/5″ boards with one part made from a 3/4″ x 1 1/2″ board. It’s simple and easy and this video shows how I did it. It works quite well for turning cork.

Router Table Fence

I made a fence for the mini router table I made in my last post. The fence slides across the table for precise placement but can be locked into place with homemade wood clamps. The fence face is adjustable to accommodate different sized router bits and there is a port on the back for a vacuum hose for dust collection.
